    • The Project needs a Wildlife Caretaker Intern who collaborates with us for 6 months or a minimum of 3 months.
    • This is a non-paid position.
    • The project offers basic food and accommodation at no cost. International tickets to and from Iquitos are not included.

    TASKS:

    • Teach and supervise volunteers and students in assigned tasks, this is an important task of this position, lead the volunteers and short-term interns with energy and empathy.
    • The caretakers receive education from other caretakers and also is committed to transfer information and educate volunteers and students, because the education in conservation is the key and objective of the project
    • Prepare and deliver food and water for animals in different areas and ages
    • Keep feeding and behavioral records
    • Clean enclosures certain days of the week, animal sleeping areas, kitchen and storage areas
    • Observe assigned animals and keep records of ethograms
    • Report abnormal conditions to the rest of the Team
    • Coordinate and develop the animal`s enrichment program to assigned animals
    • Report maintenance needs
    • Plan and coordinate assigned conservation projects
    • Plan and coordinate environmental education and conservation lectures
    • Support in the elaboration and update of protocols
    • Support in the rescue operations
