- Applying software development skills, machine learning and data science knowledge to improve our machine learning and record publication capabilities to extract data from historical records.
- Helping build the future of machine learning tools and services to support the purpose of FamilySearch.
- Utilizing data science in machine learning to improve overall extraction of information from historical records.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- English proficiency, minimun B2.
- Solid Java and Python programming skills
- Combination of 7 years of software development and machine learning experience.
- Hands on experience in using software development, data science and machine learning to extract structured information from historical document images. Must have utilized all three – machine learning, data science, and software development.
- Experience in performing root cause analysis to identify large patterns in extracted
- Use of essential Linux data manipulation tools like sed, grep, sort, regexes, etc.
- Familiarity with common Machine Learning frameworks including TensorFlow and Keras
- Understanding of theory and mechanics of deep learning techniques
