    What success looks like in this role:

    Position Overview

    Unisys has been providing IBM mainframe managed services to its clients since 1989. As an IT Specialist, you will be instrumental in providing IBM Mainframe technical solutions and support that tightly align with our client's desired outcomes.

    You will be part of a high-performance team of technical professionals who work together in the day-to-day administrative and support functions of our client's z/OS systems, primarily at a bank in Latin America, specifically supporting CICS functions. You will participate in project-related activities while interacting closely with the client.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Systems Technical support for CICS systems; installation, customization, maintenance, upgrades and support on z/OS
  • Utilize SMPE and IBM utilities.
  • Implement Web Services for Intranet and Internet capabilities, utilizing ESB target Windows and Kafka
  • Implement Web Services for sending and receiving messages to MQ
  • Provide Systems Technical support for CICS systems Third-Party software.
  • CSD maintenance and clean-up.
  • Collaborate with z/OS Technical staff on CICS portion for third-party software upgrades.
  • Collaborate with Application support and Stakeholder personnel
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and exercise.
  • Respond to escalated problems in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Attempt to reproduce reported problems, identify, and provide immediate workarounds to overcome problems.
  • Document resolutions to reported problems.
  • Identify product and documentation deficiencies and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Analyze and resolve problems escalated within the organization.
  • Work with clients to define requirements for enhancement requests.
  • Contribute to qualifying and assessing client's expectations.
  • Follow up with clients to perform fixes and to confirm resolutions.
  • Ticket and queue management of Incident, Problem and Change Management.
  • Other Responsibilities:

  • Interface and communicate with mid-level client leadership that may include technical presentations.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with Unisys third party companies and other project teams to facilitate the exchange of information and application of best practices to client solutions.
  • Freely share expertise and knowledge with other project teams.
  • May monitor the performance of internal and external service providers and/or subcontractors to ensure the awareness or requirements and adherence to project quality.

    You will be successful in this role if you have:

    Key Qualifications, skills, and expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or similar
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Mainframe and related roles
  • Expertise in System z (z Series) and z/OS.
  • Required skills:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English – reading, writing, and speaking.
  • CA SYSVIEW Realtime Performance Management for CICS and WebsphereMQ
  • IBM CICS Transaction Gateway
  • High Knowledge in z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, JCL, CICS
  • Optional skills:

  • CA Sysview Performance Management
  • IBM Content Collector for File Systems
  • Db2 Connect
  • WebSphere Application Server
  • BMC Control-M and other BMC products
  • IBM z/OS Mainframe Practitioner Professional certificate
