    Our opportunity

    We're looking for our new S olution Design Engineer who will be responsible for designing and optimizing WnD and Depot solutions to ensure efficient and effective operations. This role involves analyzing operational requirements, evaluating existing systems, and proposing innovative solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve customer service.

    Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, Finance, HSSE, Procurement, etc to understand business needs, operational challenges, and goals related to WnD and Depot operations.
  • Develop and design innovative and cost-effective WnD and Depot solutions that align with business requirements. This includes designing layouts, material flow plans, storage systems, automation solutions, and process workflows.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency, and cost reduction through data analysis, benchmarking, and industry best practices. Continuously review and enhance existing systems and processes to optimize overall performance.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate technology solutions to enhance warehouse and distribution operations. This may involve implementing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), automation technologies, and other relevant tools.
  • Prepare detailed project plans, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and documentation to support solution implementation. Generate reports and present findings to stakeholders, including senior management, to communicate proposed designs and justify investment
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as engineering, procurement, IT, and operations, to ensure seamless implementation of proposed solutions. Work closely with external vendors and suppliers to source equipment, materials, and services required to design and implement warehouse and distribution solutions.
  • Lead and manage projects related to warehouse and distribution solution design, including timeline management, resource allocation, budgeting, and risk mitigation. Ensure successful project delivery within specified timeframes and budget constraints.
  • Ensure all warehouse and distribution solutions comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines. Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure a safe working environment for employees.
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Previous experience in warehouse and distribution solution design, preferably in a 3PL company or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect and analyze data to drive decision-making.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), AutoCAD, Excel, and other relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of principles and methodologies for process improvement.
  • Familiarity with automation technologies such as robotics, conveyor systems, and automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex ideas and proposals to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Attention to detail, focusing on accuracy and quality in design deliverables.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
